This Privacy Policy explains how the Gift Memory Collector by MiYo Gift browser extension stores and handles information.

In Simple Words

No account is required to use the extension.
Your gift projects and collected items are stored locally in your browser.
The extension does not upload your project content to MiYo Gift or any third party.
The extension does not collect your browsing history, monitor pages in the background, display advertisements, or use a third-party analytics SDK.
Images, videos, and audio files are not downloaded or stored. The extension only saves references, such as URLs, when you explicitly choose to save them.
You can export your gift plan at any time and delete all extension data from the extension settings.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies only to the Gift Memory Collector by MiYo Gift browser extension.

MiYo Gift websites and online gift creation services are governed by the separate MiYo Gift Privacy Policy. That website policy applies after you choose to open or use a MiYo Gift website.

In this Policy, “MiYo Gift,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to MiYo Gift as the publisher of the extension.

Gift Memory Collector is a local-first gift planning tool. It helps you collect memories, messages, gift ideas, songs, links, places, future plans, and image references, then organize them into checklists and a gift storyboard.

The extension can be used without:

Creating a MiYo Gift account;
Signing in;
Providing an email address;
Purchasing a plan;
Uploading a profile;
Connecting to a MiYo Gift server.

MiYo Gift is not required for the extension’s collection, organization, import, export, backup, or restore features.

3. Information Stored in Your Browser

The extension stores information in chrome.storage.local. This storage belongs to the extension installation in your browser and is not a MiYo Gift cloud account.

Depending on how you use the extension, locally stored information may include:

Category	Examples
Gift project details	Project title, recipient name, relationship, occasion, important date, desired tone, description, and project status
Collected content	Memories, message ideas, personal notes, gift ideas, tags, and other text you enter
Web references	URLs, page titles, selected text, link references, image references, and the time an item was saved
Planning structure	Checklist items, completion state, storyboard sections, item order, and section assignments
Extension settings	Current project selection, language preference, and export preference

Some of this information may be personal or sensitive because gift planning can involve names, relationships, memories, and private messages. You decide what to enter and save.

Media Files

The extension does not store original:

Image files;
Video files;
Audio files;
Screenshots;
Base64-encoded media.

When you save an image, song, video, or other web resource, the extension stores a reference such as its URL and source page. A saved reference does not mean the media has been copied, uploaded, or permanently preserved.

4. Browser Permissions

The extension requests only the permissions needed for its core gift-planning features.

The extension does not request permission to access:

Your browsing history;
Cookies;
All website data through <all_urls>;
Network request interception;
Download history;
Notifications;
Your camera;
Your microphone;
Continuous clipboard reading.

The extension does not automatically scan or modify the pages you visit.

5. Information We Do Not Collect or Receive

The extension does not automatically send MiYo Gift:

Your gift projects;
Recipient names or relationships;
Memories, messages, notes, or tags;
Saved page, image, song, product, or video URLs;
Storyboard or checklist contents;
The number of projects or collected items you have;
Your extension activity or click history.

The extension does not include:

Advertising SDKs;
Third-party analytics SDKs;
Background browsing trackers;
Cross-device account synchronization;
Remote content injection.

We do not sell information from the extension because the extension does not transmit your local project information to us.

6. MiYo Gift Links and Attribution

The extension includes optional links to MiYo Gift. These links may appear in places such as the extension footer, export page, or a “Ready to create” section after you have started organizing a gift plan.

These links may contain attribution parameters such as:

utm_source=browser_extension;
utm_medium=referral;
utm_campaign=gift_memory_collector;
A value identifying where the link was opened, such as the footer or export page.

These parameters identify the extension as the source of a website visit. They do not contain your project title, recipient information, memories, messages, notes, saved links, or storyboard contents.

When you choose to open a MiYo Gift link, your browser makes a normal website request. The website may receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser information, referral information, and the attribution parameters described above. The MiYo Gift Privacy Policy then applies to that website visit.

7. Exporting and Importing Data

The extension allows you to export a gift plan as:

Plain text;
Markdown;
A JSON backup file.

Export only occurs when you actively choose an export action. Exported files are saved outside the extension’s local storage and are controlled by you and your device. They may contain private names, memories, messages, notes, and saved URLs.

You are responsible for deciding where exported files are stored and with whom they are shared. Avoid placing private gift plans in public folders or sharing them with people who should not see them.

When you import a supported JSON backup, its contents are stored locally as an extension project. Importing a backup does not upload it to MiYo Gift.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Your extension data remains in local browser storage until you:

Delete collected items or projects using available extension controls;
Use Delete all extension data in the extension settings;
Clear the extension’s storage through your browser;
Uninstall the extension.

Uninstalling the extension normally removes its chrome.storage.local data. Files you previously exported are separate files and are not deleted when the extension is uninstalled or its local storage is cleared.

Because project information is stored locally and is not synchronized to a MiYo Gift account, we cannot remotely view, recover, export, or delete it for you.

9. Third-Party Pages and Saved References

The extension can save references to third-party websites and media. Those websites are operated under their own terms and privacy policies.

A saved URL may later stop working, change, require an account, or lead to content different from what was originally available. MiYo Gift does not control third-party pages and does not guarantee that saved references will remain available.

The extension does not claim ownership of third-party images, videos, music, products, or other content. You are responsible for respecting copyright, privacy, and other rights when using saved references in a gift.

10. Security

We designed the extension to reduce privacy risk by keeping project information in the browser, avoiding unnecessary permissions, and not transmitting project content to a server.

However, no device or browser storage is completely secure. Anyone who can access your browser profile or exported backup files may be able to view your gift plans. You should:

Use a trusted device and browser profile;
Protect access to your device;
Export backups only to locations you trust;
Remove private projects or exported files when they are no longer needed.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the extension changes or when clarification is needed. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

If a future version introduces optional cloud transfer, account synchronization, analytics, or another feature that changes how information is handled, this Policy will be updated before that processing is introduced.
